Loise Ng’ang’a
Senior Advocate
Loise Watiri Ng’ang’a is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a certified professional mediator committed to advancing justice for survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Kenyatta University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
Her work sits at the intersection of law, human rights, and access to justice. Through litigation, mediation, and legal advocacy, Loise supports survivors in navigating legal systems that are often intimidating and inaccessible. She is particularly passionate about ensuring that victims of intimate partner violence and SGBV are not only heard but are empowered to pursue safety, accountability, and long-term protection through the law.
With several years of experience in criminal and civil litigation, Loise has represented clients in court while also facilitating mediation processes as an accredited mediator under the Kenyan Judiciary. She believes that justice must be survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and rooted in dignity, and she works to ensure that legal processes do not further silence or marginalize those seeking protection.
Beyond her professional practice, Loise has actively contributed to legal empowerment and human rights initiatives, volunteering with organizations such as Reprieve UK, Kituo cha Sheria, and International Justice Mission (IJM). Through this work, she has supported legal awareness initiatives, promoted access to justice, and advocated for stronger legal protections for vulnerable and marginalized communities.
Through her advocacy, Loise is driven by the belief that the law should serve as both a shield and a tool for social change, particularly for survivors of violence whose voices have too often been ignored.
“The law should be a shield for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, not another barrier to justice.”
