Community of Practice Zoom Meetings
Justice Pamoja’s student lawyers meet regularly as a Community of Practice.
A recent session featured guest speaker K. Denise Rucker Krepp, a former D.C. elected official, Obama administration political appointee, and U.S. Coast Guard Veteran whose work has addressed institutional accountability, public service, and survivor-centered responses to sexual and gender-based violence.
Our discussion explored lessons from inside complex systems: how advocates can support survivors, strengthen documentation, navigate institutional barriers, and pursue accountability with professionalism and care.
Every other week, Justice Pamoja’s COP sessions bring together Kenyan law students from multiple law schools, advocates, and justice practitioners committed to strengthening survivor-centered justice through mentorship, casework, and shared learning.

Pamoja promotes the rule of law in Kenya in two ways.
First, we provide free, high-quality, and survivor-centered legal support to those threatened by violence. This expands access to legal services and builds trust in the justice system.
Second, we mentor new Kenyan lawyers to build a better justice system for everyone, giving them the skills and experience to serve their communities.
Strong and loving communities protect themselves and their children from violence, from drug abuse, from human trafficking, and from other forms of exploitation.
Together, we work alongside local state actors and community leaders to strengthen justice institutions and provide evidence to guide reform.
