Transforming Justice to Cultivate Community Trust in Kenya

Pamoja promotes the rule of law in Kenya in two ways.

First, we provide free, high-quality, and survivor-centered legal support to those threatened by violence. This expands access to legal services and builds trust in the justice system.

Second, we mentor new Kenyan lawyers to build a better justice system for everyone, giving them the skills and experience to serve their communities.

Strong and loving communities protect themselves and their children from violence, from drug abuse, from human trafficking, and from other forms of exploitation.

Together, we work alongside local state actors and community leaders to strengthen justice institutions and provide evidence to guide reform.

10 Cases from Kiambiu : What Comes Next

In March, Justice Pamoja held a legal aid clinic in Kiambiu, Nairobi. In a single day, Kenyan advocates and law students worked together to serve 34 community members—listening to their situations and identifying possible next steps.

The clinic was an important first step. The work now is to ensure these matters do not stall.

We are now preparing to move forward with approximately 10 cases, including matters involving domestic violence, sexual assault, child protection, and personal safety.

These are situations where legal pathways exist—but without sustained support, they risk stalling.

We are raising $5,000 to support this work—covering essential costs such as transport, court filings, and coordination that allow these cases to move forward.

All gifts are currently matched, doubling their impact.

Contributions help ensure these cases can move forward.
